Christian Environmental Organizations:
The Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN): a ministry that seeks to educate, equip, inspire, and mobilize Christians in their effort to care for God's creation, to be faithful stewards of God's provision, and to advocate for actions and policies that honor God and protect the environment.
A Rocha USA: is "an international Christian conservation organization working in 20 countries on six continents to care for God's creation, A Rocha has many faces. Here in the United States, we are a nonprofit, nationwide network mobilizing communities to steward the Earth through educational programs and hands-on projects--helping to restore the environment upon which people, plants and animals all depend." They also have an international website which contains even more information about their work, as well as all sorts of great material about Green Christianity; sermons, videos, writings, and devotionals. A great organization.
Renewal: a Christ-centered creation care network that focuses on living in right relationship with God. They strive to inspire, connect, and equip students in their work on college campuses. Together through prayer, service, and action they aim to expand the creation care movement and support the initiatives that are already happening. They write, "As followers of Christ, we seek to follow His example of love by taking care of everything that He so lovingly created- the earth and each other."
Target Earth International: "Serving the Earth, Serving the Poor." Target Earth is active in 15 countries -- buying up endangered lands, protecting people, saving the jaguar, sharing the love of Jesus, feeding the hungry, and reforesting ravaged terrain. They describe themselves as 'a movement that is marked by a spirited desire to live a life of value. And a belief that Christians have a unique role in today's world that is so pressed by poverty, destruction and violence. It's a collaboration of individuals, churches, college fellowships and Christian ministries motivated by the biblical call to be faithful stewards of everything God created-to love our neighbors as ourselves and to care for the earth."
